Synonymous with good times and a necessary pilgrimage for beer lovers, Asia’s largest beer festival, Beerfest Asia, returns for its ninth edition at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, from 17th to 20th August 2017 with its widest offering to date. With over 100 different new beer labels making a debut at the festival, the inaugural debut of hands-on beer workshops, a music line-up spanning more than 30 live quality acts across different genres, and the introduction of Singapore’s largest outdoor Beer Yoga session; there is something for everyone at this year’s edition of Beerfest Asia.

The Beer
The part air-conditioned 8,000 square feet space will be backed by a priceless view of the Singapore Straits, a scenic accompaniment to over 500 different selections of beers and ciders available. More than 100 different new labels will make its Singapore debut at Beerfest Asia 2017, including the likes of Krušovice Imperial, Erdinger Sommerweis, Pressure Drop Wu Gang Chops The Tree and Guinness Bright, amongst many more. Representing the home ground, Archipelago Brewery, The 1925 Brewing Co. and Brewlander & Co will also be on hand with their own respective booths, flying the Singapore flag high with innovative creations, some of which are brewed specifically for Beerfest Asia 2017. For the first time ever, Beerfest Asia 2017 will be having a daily beer workshop across four days with different brew masters and brand ambassadors guiding beer lovers on the nuances in between different types of brews as well as how to brew the perfect beer from home.

The Entertainment
In between amazing beers and tasty treats, Beerfest Asia 2017’s entertainment program is as exciting as its beer menu with the largest line-up to date with 30 live acts, consisting of DJs and renowned bands. Keeping true to Beerfest’s tradition of good music, guests can experience riveting live performances by tribute bands of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Guns N’ Roses, inviting everyone to sing along to the classic tunes of the good ol’ 80s. Known for their unique interpretation of top 40 tunes, local favourites Reverie Acoustic, The Day Trippers, SweatShop Jam and Supersonic are set to take the stage, turning the festival ground into a live karaoke session. Curated by Timbre Group, the festival stage will also serve as a platform for up and coming local musicians to take the stage, treating the audience with original compositions. Fans looking for refreshing new music can look forward to Deadbeat taking the stage with a high energy ‘drumDJ’ set, layering a live drum performance with an eclectic cross-genre mash-up. As the sun sets and the night beckons, Beerfest Asia summons the city’s finest DJs
from the best Singaporean clubs to the festival. Through the four days, Brendon P, Haan, KFC, Shigeki, Stephen Day and Zig Zach will be on the decks pumping endless beats, akin to the draught beers available at the festival. All-female DJs from Altra Mgmt will also be spinning a wide selection of crowd favourites that promises to get people off the benches and on to the dance floor.

The Food
Foodies can delight in the expanded gastronomy experience at this year’s edition. With a carefully curated list of food vendors entailing the likes of Handle Bar, Kontiki, The 1925 Brewing Co. and Little Part 1 Café, guests will be lining their stomachs with a warm and hearty meal before, after and whilst sampling some of the finest beers the world has to offer.

The Sports
Yogis in need of an alternative weekend yoga fix can look forward to Singapore’s largest outdoor Beer Yoga session. Led by chief instructor Dawn Sim from Trium Fitness, yoga lovers can indulge in a novel experience incorporating the beer bottle into a flow of yoga poses along with the pleasures of beer drinking on 20 August at 6pm. For the fitness fanatics with a penchant for beers, unleash the athlete within by taking part in various beer-related sporting events, such as an open beer pong area, meant for anyone to turn beer drinking into a competitive sport.
